I was planning on writing a post with pictures earlier today but I had to charge the camera batteries....and I have to admit that I couldn't wait that long so I started the Tamagotchi without taking any pictures XD. However the starting process is exactly the same as the TMGC + C; the only difference was the egg which had stars instead of polka dots. The Clock is different though, here's a picture of it:
A nice change for sure, loves it :D ! I popped in some batteries in the TMGC + C to compare the two screens and I noticed that the colors are more intense on the Tamagotchi ID. Another thing which I tried was the connection feature on the two Tamagotchi versions and I was happy to find out that the TMGC+C and the Tamagotchi ID can connect with each other! I'll write another post tomorrow, or the day after, and make a proper comparison between the two Tamagotchi color versions.
Anyway, the egg hatched into a cute baby girl. The character name is Patchikutchi. Again, I did not have my camera at the time so I don't have a picture of her unfortunately; but you can find a picture here.
The Tamagotchi ID has new games. The first one is a slot machine game which is really easy, and the second one is a catching game which is very similar to the one found on the TMGC + C. Here are some quick photos I took of the two games:60 minutes after Patchikutchi was born, she evolved into Hoshitchi. You might recall that this was a special character on the Familitchi/V5:
Something else that I noticed is a mailbox outside in the yard. I don't recall seeing this on the Tamagotchi + Color:Sorry for the short post but I've only been using this Tamagotchi for the last couple of hours so I still need to become familiar with the whole thing. So far it has been very similar to the TMGC+C. I'll be typing daily posts for the entire first generation and I'll post as many pictures and information as possible so make sure that you check back soon.
Take care y'all! :)

Tamagotchi ID - it arrived today :)
Well the tamagotchi ID I ordered a few days ago has arrived today. I had to pay €24 to get it cleared through customs which is a first. I've never had any packages held in customs before. Anyway, it's finally here and I have to say that I'm really excited about it. It's really late right now and so I can't take good quality pictures until tomorrow morning. Also I've tried putting in the batteries but I can't figure out how to open the back. I tried pushing the small button like on the Tamagotchi + Color but the battery cover isn't budging! I'll try again tomorrow. In the meantime here's an extremely low quality picture of my Tamagochi ID I took with my cell phone.

OM21: Tamagotchi iD English Instructions!
As Bandai was the main sponsor of the Anime Festival Asia 2009, there were several Tamagotchi iD toys there as well. Because of that, some English-language instructions were written out for new users. One person took the instruction pages and scanned them onto Flickr!

Tamagotchi ID - I bought it!!
Well I finally decided to buy the new Tamagotchi ID. I'm currently saving for a shopping trip to London so I was a bit reluctant about buying it but I found some rather attractive prices on eBay so I pressed the 'Buy it Now' button before I could change my mind :D. It cost me about $75 (shipping price included), rather expensive for a Tamagotchi, I know, but last year I had payed about $100 for the Tamagotchi + Color, so to me $75 is not a lot of money for a Tamagotchi which has more features than the TMGC+C. I chose the blue one...looks really nice IMO. What do you think? Here's a picture of it:
I'm actually very excited about getting this Tamagotchi. It seems like it's going to be packed with really cool features. I'll be making a detailed log about it, so y'all make sure that you check this blog regularly :)
I haven't really understood the difference between this Tamagotchi and the TMGC+C... does anyone know? Leave comments! Thanks :)

Tamagotchi ID - New Updates
Hi everyone, it's me Jesmond! I know I haven't posted in such a long time and I truly apologise for that. After yesterday's great news posted by OM21 I just had to write something. If you haven't read the previous post I suggest that you do so, it's very interesting. We're going to have a new Tamagotchi in full color! And it sounds soooo cool!! It will be called Tamagotchi ID. Here's a picture I found on the internet:I think I'll be getting the yellow one, it looks beautiful :) I love that they re-designed the unit; it looks more streamlined now. As you might recall, the previous Tamagotchi + Color had a flat back. This one seems to have a more rounded back and the crystal-facet looks so nice.
I found a link with some more information (click here). I translated the page from Japanese with Google Translate so the English is really bad; however it should give you the basic idea of the features we should be expecting. I would like to point out that this Tamagotchi will have an LCD color screen instead of OLED (the TMGC+C's screen was OLED); I'm not sure how this will affect the screen quality but hopefully it's all for the best. I also like that we can now get costumes for the characters. That sounds awesome!
Make sure that you leave a comment telling us what you think of the Tamagotchi ID; I hope you're all as excited as I am about this :)

OM21: Tamagotchi: The Movie
Are you ready for Tamagotchi's big venture into the world of anime motion pictures?
Here, I'm going to tell you all about the Tamagotchi movie, what it's about, and when you can get to see it.
Japanese Release
The film was first produced in Japan as Eiga De Tojo-Tamagotchi: Dokidoki! Uchuu no Maigotchi!? (Appearing on Film - Tamagotchi: Lost Child in Space!?). Advertising and promotions for the film started in early July 2007, including promoting the newest character ChaMametchi (who would not long after appear on the Family pets).
On December 15th, 2007, the film hit theaters. It opened at #3 in the box office, and it received very positive reviews. It was released next summer onto DVD, just as the sequel had been announced.
The Story
On Tamagotchi planet, Mametchi, an illustrious inventor, has just finished his new creation - a Forwarding Machine. But on its first trial run, the mischievous Kuchipatchi somehow manages to throw the machine's aim off course, which results in a child from Earth, Tanpopo, being transported to the Tamagotchi Planet. While the little girl is thrilled to see her favourite Tamagotchis in person, she soon realizes that she can't get home. Mametchi's mom and dad assure her that they will be able to invent a rocket which will take her back to the exact time she left and so, relieved, Tanpopo manages to enjoy the time she will spend living with Mametchi on Tamagotchi Planet until she can return home. But as a series of strange events threaten the planet, Tanpopo and her friends find themselves responsible for much more than her return to Earth...
Where Can I See It?
Fortunately, Bandai Entertainment, the branch of Bandai America that handles anime licensing, dubbing, and distribution, picked up the rights for the film. However, the dates for the film's DVD release worldwide have varied:
- Asian / Oceania / Australia region: The film was released June 3rd, 2009. Go out and grab a copy!
- United Kingdom (UK): The film will be available on September 14th, 2009. Click here to preorder your copy!
- United States of America (USA): Bandai revealed in a birthday letter to the Tamagotchi forum TamaTalk that the film will be available in Spring 2010.
Some clips from the film are available now on YouTube for your viewing pleasure!
