Tamagotchi in Color !!

I knew that it would eventually happen :D Good news everyone! The tamagotchi is finally being released in a color version!!! This won't be a simulation for cell-phones, computers, gameboy etc...this will be a regular hand-held key chain Tamagotchi but the display is all in color! There is no information about it yet except the above picture which I got from Japan's Bandai website. I really really like the screen and the fact that they included a room for the tamagotchi to live in will probably mean that it will be able to interact with the environment, such as playing games on the computer seen in the background or resting on the couch. As you can see from the picture above, there is a ladder leading somewhere else. I'm guessing that you will be able to tell the tamagotchi to go to other parts of its 'house' where there might be more options for direct interaction. It could even lead to an outside world that the tamagotchi can explore! These are only theories but they're now completely possible thanks to a high resolution color screen.
Also, judging from the above picture, we can guess what the icons will be used for:

  1. The first icon is probably the regular screen for checking on the tamagotchi's age, weight etc.
  2. The second icon is for feeding the tamagotchi (obviously) .
  3. Third icon is the toilet...I can't see how they could have changed this option from the tamagotchis we currently have.
  4. The fourth icon looks really interesting; the small open door might hint at the theory I've stated earlier...maybe being able to leave the tamagotchi's house to interact with an outside world, sort of like a Tamatown but on the Tamagotchi unit itself...that would be awesome :D!!
  5. I see that there will still be the possibility of connecting with other tamagotchis, i don't know if it would be possible to connect with the tamagotchis we currently have...that would be a nice feature wouldn't it?
  6. Sixth icon is for medicine...it's most probably the same thing as the medicine features used in current tamagotchis...maybe with better animation sequences?
  7. The chest icon is most probably the same as the one used on the entama and similar tamagotchis, i.e. to store items collected from tamatown etc.
  8. The 8th icon looks a lot like a showering unit...now there's definitely something we've never seen on any tamagotchi so far.
  9. Ninth icon is probably for the friend's list, family history etc.
  10. The last icon looks very familiar ;) I guess I don't need to hint what this does.
As I've already mentioned, these are just my thoughts on what the features of this new tamagotchi might be all about. I've added another screenshot I got from Bandai's website. Maybe someone knows what's written in the advert and leave us a translation in a comment? Maybe tell us when it will be released...I can see a number 9 written near the bottom, is this the release date?It will obviously be released in Japan first...no idea when, then it would (hopefully) be released to the rest of the world. I can't wait!!! It all looks sooo very interesting. Let me know what you guys think about this new tama.

Tamagotchi V5 - Summer fun competition

Hi All!! It's been such a long time since I last posted an image. As many of you might have noticed, this is the image used in my header and was also featured in an earlier post. I changed the whole scene to give it a summery feel. I also put this image up for a competition on tamatalk.com. Whoever wins will get a V5 tamagotchi! I finally have a chance to get my own V5 :) What do you guys think?
Also please note that the screen name I use on TamaTalk is helios...in case someone thinks that helios stole my picture ;)

Edit: After entering the above image for the contest I have been receiving some very negative feedback from the other contestants at TamaTalk: click here and read the comments....I guess no one likes it when the competition gets serious ;)

Edit #2: Well unfortunately I did not win the contest. I really liked the winning entry though. You can click here to see it.

Tamagotchi V5.5 news

Hi all, Bandai contacted me yesterday and told me about the V5.5...apparently this won't be the American/European version of the Royal Famita after all. There will be new colors and a new family. I'm guessing that the new family will be a different pure family from the ones we have seen on the regular V5. I will be posting a picture of the new designs as soon as they are out. Anyway, here's a copy-paste of what Bandai told me:

Jesmond:

Thank you for your support of Tamagotchi Connection. We do not have an official V5.5 but rather a refresh of the V5. Same shape and concept with about 12 new colors/designs. The new images should be updated onto www.tamagotchi.com sometime soon. The front of the packaging for these toys still says V5 but the back does promote how you can now raise the characters to become a celebrity type family!

Bandai America

Edit: I was reading some Tamagotchi Celebrity (the V5.5) logs and I can confirm that the V5.5 is the American/European version of the Japanese royal Tamagotchi.

Tamagotchi V5 - pure Families

A visitor has pointed out how to get the four pure families. You get them by setting the particular bonding level before your tamas reach adulthood. So here is how you get Mametchi, Memetchi, Furawatchi and Kutchipatchi:To get Mametchi you need a male Tama and train him with Smart items until you reach 80-100% bonding. If you get 100% bonding, and mate him with Chantotchi you'll have the pure Mame family.to get Kutchipatchi you need to train a male child with the Easy-Going items until you reach 80-100% bonding. If you get 100% bonding, and mate Kutchipatchi with Yonepatchi., you'll have the pure Kutcipa family.to get Memetchi you need to train a female child with the Cheerful items until you reach 80-100% bonding. If you get 100% bonding, and mate Memetchi with Mumutchi, you'll have the pure Meme family.
to get Furawatchi/Violetchi you need to train a female child with the smart items until you reach40%-70% bonding. If you get 100% bonding, and mate Furawatchi with Sukatchi, you'll have the pure Violet family.

That's it! Big thanks for everyone who made a contribution for this post :)

Tamagotchi - Space family growth chart

And it's finally here, the first official Tamagotchi chart in full 3D :D :D
I finally found the Planetchi file and here are all the Space theme family characters. Starting from left to right: Iwatchi, Hoshitchi, Mikazukitchi, Sunnytchi and Planetchi. Aren't they all perfect together?! :)
You can click on the image to see a slightly bigger version and you can also use this image in any way you want...just make sure that you don't remove the watermark, a link to this site will also be much appreciated although not necessary. I'm now thinking of making the V5.5 characters in 3D so check back.

talking ChaMametchi

I found this new toy on the Japanese Bandai website. I don't know exactly what it is but it seems like this is a sort of Furby (another Bandai toy) but with a ChaMametchi theme. As you might recall, ChaMametchi is Mametchi's younger sister who first appeared in the Tamagotchi movie last year and then she also appeared on the Tamagotchi V5. From the pictures on the website it seems like other characters will make an appearence (like Mametchi and Kutchipatchi). The small bag is a way of interacting with ChaMametchi and pressing the buttons will make her speak. However she only speaks in Japanese for now, so unless they come up with an English version or unless you understand Japanese, there's not much sense in buying one.
This toy also seems to be a modified, more sophisticated version of Arukotch where she walks around and interacts with other tamagotchi, plays games and collects items. As I said before, the highlight of the toy is the talking feature where you will be able to interact on some level with ChaMametchi herself...seems like a good idea. If anyone has more information about this toy I would really appreciate it if you shared it with us by leaving a comment on this post. Thanks :)

Tamagotchi V5 - Space family (incomplete)

I've been meaning to make a 3D growth chart of the Tamagotchi V5 Space family for a while now...however the problem is I can't find the file I made of Planetchi in 3D ! I think that I might have to re-do it all over again. Anyway, for now I am posting an incomplete growth chart of the Space family...I'll add Planetchi as soon as I finish her.
