Hi all, Bandai contacted me yesterday and told me about the V5.5...apparently this won't be the American/European version of the Royal Famita after all. There will be new colors and a new family. I'm guessing that the new family will be a different pure family from the ones we have seen on the regular V5. I will be posting a picture of the new designs as soon as they are out. Anyway, here's a copy-paste of what Bandai told me:

Thank you for your support of Tamagotchi Connection. We do not have an official V5.5 but rather a refresh of the V5. Same shape and concept with about 12 new colors/designs. The new images should be updated onto www.tamagotchi.com sometime soon. The front of the packaging for these toys still says V5 but the back does promote how you can now raise the characters to become a celebrity type family!

Edit: I was reading some Tamagotchi Celebrity (the V5.5) logs and I can confirm that the V5.5 is the American/European version of the Japanese royal Tamagotchi.

this is alene i think i have a v5.5 because none of the v5 cheats work for me how can i figure it out i threw away the box and lost the directions!!!! i need to know!! jesmond can you please help me!!
Hi Alene. Yes I think that your might have the V5.5 after all, that's why the cheats won't work for you. Here is a simple way to determine if your Tamagotchi version is the V5.5: give your tamas something to eat, and if two servants come to feed your tamas then you have the V5.5. Please let me know what version you have.

unfortunately there are no v5.5 cheats or codes yet. I will be posting them here as soon as the cheats are released.
Hi ive read alot of these questions about the v5 and v5.5 and theyve helped me ALOT with my v5.5 but i have a question, what does blended family mean??
lended family means that your tamas do not belong to one of the main families (pure families).
So practically a blended family is the opposite of a pure family.

no, it's not a bad thing at all. A pure family simply means that it belongs to a particular family group....most families on the V5/V5.5 will not be pure.
