Tamagotchi + color review

This post will be an initial review of the Tamagotchi + color which I just received today. The first thing I'll be talking about is the physical proportions of the Tamagotchi unit. The length and height is not so much different from previous tamagotchis (compared with a V1 below). Although it is a bit larger, the difference is not that noticeable.

The screen is exactly the same size as previous Tamas (I measured it :D) with the difference that it is now in color obviously. The buttons are not made of rubber (as was the case with all the other tamagotchis). I really like the new buttons, they're very easy to press and respond quickly. I've had some issues with rubber buttons before particularly with the response time. These new buttons definately don't have this issue. The main difference in this unit is the depth, it's really thick (picture below). The new size does require some getting used to I'm afraid. I don't see why it should have been so thick. The fact that there are 2 AAA batteries isn't really an excuse. However I find it very comfortable to hold in my hand, it feels really solid. The material is very good, there's no cheap plastic here and all pieces fit perfectly together. I particularly like how easy it is to take off the back cover; there's a small button which, when pressed, pops the cover out automatically, genius :D !

The major, and obvious, difference is the new screen. I really really like it. It actually looks so much better than I expected. The animations and tiny details make good use of this screen. I simply love the faces on all the objects! So cute!!! The resolution used is satisfying enough, finally I can see the characters the way they're supposed to look. Below is a quick snapshot of the color screen. Please note that the actual screen loks a lot better than what you're seeing in the above photo. The pixels aren't so noticeable when seen in person.
Check back soon, I'll be posting a detailed log of my first hatched Tamagotchi + Color :D

Tamagotchi + color cheats / codes

Ok, this is just a quick post. these past few weeks I've been scouring the internet for all things TMGC+C and I've been putting all information I find on a text-file. I did not write all the sources for some of the things I found. So please if you see a piece of information that belongs to you, don't hesitate to tell me about it and i will give you the necessary credit.

Anyway, here are some codes that I got for the Tamagotchi + Color. I found these from a number of different websites. I've also tested them out and they all worked out for me. To use these codes, scroll to the connection icon (5th icon that looks like a heart) then choose the second option and enter the numbers below:

37414 95226 - Christmas Cake
80155 05372 - Doughnut
58748 72213 - Sweet Potato
84328 41937 - Hapihapi seeds
17140 03794 - McDonalds seeds
93151 09844 - Letter seeds
83512 94047 - Mochi
14751 26428 - Chocolate
13231 37549 - Cookie
82643 70716 - Picnic
41286 51789 - Koshiwa Mochi
15640 37912 - Umeboshi

37017 98238 - Shaved Ice
92849 51716 - Tsukimi Dango
18752 32429 - Candy

Note! when the Hapihapi seeds are grown they produce a heart fruit which, when eaten, calls for a visit from hapihapi. This will raise the happy bar.

Tamagotchi + color - It's finally here

Finally my white Tamagotchi + Color has arrived today. I was really worried that it got lost or something since I had ordered this tamagotchi almost a month ago. I guess this was due to the fact that I ordered it during the holiday season so delays are to be expected. Anyway, the long wait is now over. I took the first picture of my new Tamagotchi+color while it was still in it's packaging (picture above).

After a lot of fumbling with scissors I managed to get the tamagotchi out withouth tearing the packaging. I'm always careful to leave the original packaging intact so as to facilitate storage in the future. Below is a picture of all the things included in the box: the tamagotchi+color (duh!), 2 AAA batteries and the instruction booklet.

I know that this is a short post. please check for later posts, I'll be adding more about this tamagotchi as I go along. Check back, I'll be adding another post in a few minutes :D

Tamagotchi Music Star - V6

I've been contacting Bandai America about the latest Tamagotchi, i.e. the Tamagotchi Music star. Below is the email I sent:

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am the website owner of familitchi.blogspot.com which is a blog about Bandai toys (mostly about the tamagotchi products). Many of my visitors have been asking questions about the Tamagotchi Music star. I would appreciate it if you gave me some information about this version of Tamagotchi. Also I would very much like to have pictures of the different designs of this version to display on my website. I saw the design on the official tamagotchi website but since it is a flash-website, I could not copy and paste the pictures. I have contacted you other times and you always managed to give me the information I asked you, I thank you for that.
Yours sincerely
Jesmond

below is the response from Bandai:

Dear Jesmond,

The newest addition to the Tamagotchi family is the Tamagotchi Music Star. Kids can raise, nurture and care for their Tamagotchi music star as they follow their musical career. Once the Tamagotchi character is an adult, they can form a band and perform in front of a panel of judges. There are 20+ musical instruments to choose from and there are 8 new games and 40 characters to meet. The music star still has the IR capabilities and will connect with other Music Stars and V5's. The friend list feature allows storing up to 45 friends' characters, and with both single player and double player games, characters can visit friends, play games and send/receive gifts.

I have requested photos from our marketing division. Upon my receipt of them, I can forward them to you.

Sincerely,

Bandai America, Inc.

Tamagotchi plus color - I bought it!!

Hi everyone. Wow it's been such a looong time since I've last posted on this blog. The reason being that I did not have anything to write about. But that's about to change because I've just purchased a Tamagotchi + color from eBay. I bought it from Jason's store for $82 (+ $12 shipping). Quite expensive but I think it's going to be worth it. I've been reading some user's reviews and this tamagotchi version looks AWESOME!!
Well anywayI don't have it yet but, from what I've heard, Jason ships the items extra fast so I wouldn't be surprised if I received it next week or, at least, just in time for Christmas :)
Below is a picture of the Tamagotchi + color that I chose. I chose white because any other color would have washed out the bright colors on the screen; don't you agree? So anyway, I'll be blogging heavily on this tamagotchi once I receive it so check back soon :)
